Say doc I have always wanted to see that industry standard medical measuring device that you guys use to determine our sanity.

Any chance you have the model number of that device or maybe even a manual laying around we could peruse through?

How is that device calibrated and how long is the training, testing, and certification to be qualified to operate this said industry standard measuring device?

If you get trained and certified on brand A can you legally operate brand B? Do you need to be trained and certified on both brands?

How long does your certification last and what do the recurrent training classes include?

Asking for a friend.

Pilot Mental Health Update:

The NTSB Chair, following a recent forum discussing pilot mental health, stated, "The existing rules are arcane; at the very least, pilots and others need to be able to sit down, talk to a therapist, and not worry about the impact on their jobs."

The NTSB has the power to recommend legislative changes but not to create legislation. Recently, significant attention has been drawn to barriers to pilots seeking mental health support.

NTSB has made a lot of excellent recomendations over the years which were roundly ignored by regulators.

At least until enough blood is shed. Sometimes it takes congressional intervention.

In fairness, there is *some* practical need to weigh cost vs benefit, which is the FAA's role. NTSB just throws the flag on everything they see.
