Question Piedmont Minimums?

I happened to run into an FO at Piedmont yesterday on the train home yesterday and he told me some interesting information. I told him I was getting ready to attend ATP in Nov. to get my CPL,CFI,CFII and asked him how the hiring was going at Piedmont. To my surprise he said they were desperately hiring and at much lower mins. than posted. I checked out pilotjobs.com and they show 1500tt and 250ME as mins. He told me they were hiring people with 500-700tt and only 50me! He even went as far as telling me that if I had my Cpl and a few hours of multi to go with my 400 SE PIC he could probably land me an interview! I was just curios if anyone else at Piedomont can very some of this information? One negative thing he did mention though was the upgrade time being a bit slow, about 5 years.

Yeah I agree with you there. He was also complaining how hard his commute was. He lives near ORD but was based in MDT. I never hear to much about Piedmont. Are there other serious negatives to consider?

It is a decent place to work if you want to live in one of the bases and don't have your little heart set on a jet.

he gets alot of early shows and late off times, which make it hard to commute. 5 day trips too

I've heard the same from my friend who is an FO there (about the mins.. although he specified that those lowered mins are for aviation university grads).. and that he could get me an interview. (Ben33, maybe we're talking about the same friend? haha)
My question is, how come they are so desperate, especially at a time when many other regionals are slowing down on their hiring? It makes me wonder if there is anything to be suspicious about. (Crappy mgmt, crappy QOL, etc.etc.)

Piedmont has not hired for a very long time. I want to say the last full scale hiring they did was more than three years ago. I think it is more of an attrition issue. They are hiring UND Grads with 500tt & 50. They will be up at the school doing interviews in NOV. Rumor has it that they are looking for approx 30 or so.

Piedmont has hired steadily through this year, up to and including right now.

I have 10-12 friends there who graduated from Purdue in May and have been in class from then until now...

No no no...they all weren't hired at the same time. There have been classes in May, June, & October that had people I know in them.
