Another reason to stay away from the 900, is I've heard all/most of the FO upgrades are going to the saab, so you're gonna probably end up there anyways and might as well get used to the saab

"as soon as you have the time" what usually constitutes time in this respect? how much time in model is enough to upgrade assuming you have your 1500 and ATP.

i was in training in sept and did not hear of this

but whoever won certainly flies the better plane, no better way to determine that

strong sarcasm

on a more serious note, my goals may be very different than the next guy, so for someone to knock on an rj pilot or a saab pilot is not right. not everyone wants to fly a 747 for NWA. just think that everyone is different before you go knockin on somoene for the plane they fly.

boeing t7 that was not directed at you

I was hired by both Piedmont and Mesaba and am nothing but glad that I chose Mesaba. I'm on the Saab and let me put the debate to rest. All FO's at Mesaba get paid the same, regardless of the equipment. Things are moving so fast around here that the only real factor is seniority.

I'll second that. Just finished a day trip in the Saab with two people I didn't know at all this morning. Had a great time all day as I logged my 100th hour of credit for the month!

PDT is closing their SYR base, FWIW... I believe that's ~40 pilots or so that are going to be displaced. I have my own ideas what that'll mean for PDT in the coming months, do the math.
