All of the guesses of times are dynamic because we are talking about something spanning over a half a year and things changing with instructors, training dept changes, etc. Not having a hew hire class in August will change the dynamic once the July class is done and they get to the Sept people. But if you want a recent timeline of someone that just completed SOE a few weeks ago here ya go:

Indoc: March 6-10
Ground/sims: June 13 - Aug 12
LOE: Aug 13
Start SOE: Oct 15
Finish SOE: Nov 8

Such a long time. Hopefully it pays off in the end.

Projected flow times are based on Indoc, correct? So it's not the worst to have the delays? Other than being that much longer before you have competitive times to apply outside of the flow...

Yes, the training pipeline is too long and they are actively working to reduce it. Figure your "losing" 3 months of flying, so you're behind 3 months or about 225 hours of flying time.

What do you gain by "losing" 3 months? By the time you hit the line, 36-42 pilots have flowed to American Airlines. You'll be 120-150 numbers higher on the seniority list. You'll have enjoyed have full travel benefits on American. If it works for you, you get to double dip and get paid by Piedmont as well as continuing to work at your former employer.

Yes, you'll be 3 months or about 225 hours less flying time behind someone who went somewhere else.

Correct. It’s not worse, flow wise, to have delays in training. You’re on the seniority and flow list at the start of Indoc.

Yeah it sucks that you may be a few months behind some of your friends at other airlines, but just think of all the places you can visit and the time to spend with your family. When you start flying, you’ll have very little time to enjoy these things. Another way to look at the training delay is an opportunity to boost your resume. Need to finish that online degree? Need to find somewhere to volunteer? Maybe hit up a job fair and start networking early on. Point is, total time and PIC isn’t all that majors look at. It’s the entire package that you can start the day you get back from indoc and continue until you flow or get hired by another major.

True story! Fire up the twitter or spacebook and creep into the pool of single FAS who are always looking for a travel companion to crazy places. Use that bonus $ on zeds and ID90 hotel discounts. Think that would be quad dipping.”i call that the jackpot” Think of it as 121 operation mentoring. When you hit the line you will be a better pilot, I promise. You will NEVER Chase needles or a Flight Attendants again. And dont act you dont know what im talking about. Love waking up at 2am to make work at 8am show. Also, dont fn commute.
