Aside from what they officially say, is it prudent? I.e. if you show up to systems and aren't really sharp and they find out you were working another job, that might make some waves right?
A lot of guys in my class emailed the VP of Flight Ops and received a go ahead to work outside of PDT while waiting. They'll cover this the first day of Indoc.

I’ve heard of some guys requesting and receiving approval to work part time at their old flying job while at home for the stretch. I wouldn’t do it without company approval and I’d make sure you come back to ground prepared and studied.

Last year I flew a little commercial pt91 work at my old place of employment during the wait for sims. Just an email to the fleet chief was all it took. Not a hassle for me at all.

So who do you think will be the next regional to follow in endeavors steps and increase pay substantially and how long will it take?

Republic. Just speculation but apparently they're already in contract negotiations and I have a few friends over there who said first year pay will likely be above $50 an hour.

AA has already seens its WOs struggle to fill classes of 2-4 last time it let their pay lag tens of thousands behind the top paying regionals. The AA WOs will see competitive pay near endeavor and whoever else marches them within 12-18 months of those new rates going into effect depending on how quickly applicants ignore the flow and go after the $$$.

They were a couple years behind getting a bonus so them immediately matching a significant pay raise seems very unlikely.

The good news is Delta WO set a new precedent of pay rates and not just a bonus. So that means raises for everyone not just year 1-3.

Pretty crazy change from the not so long distant history when it was total opposite. Delta mashed Pinacolaba together put the gun to their head and said sign this trash or we will furlough 1400 pilots and fly around as a 30 900 airline. They needed this bad from thr years of abuse. Their pay rate is like dash rates.. I dont think AA is gonna approach pdt or others until they need to. But, hope im wrong and thet offer same rates to all 3 wholly owns.

All WO MECs have been approached. Recruiting numbers have gotten slimmer and at least at PDT there are new hires in line that are not showing for class and recruiting is scrambling to fill the seats. Its not an emergency but its been noticed. Apparently...

Directive from Dallas is fill seats asap.. Dallas is acutely aware of the situation.
