Last time there was this big of a push to hire a bunch of pilots was during the Dash transition. Keefer dropped the ball and refused to release enough pilots from the line to adequately staff the training department, resulting in major backlogs. They hired 300 pilots that year and lost 200. It’ll be interesting to see how the plan works out this time around, especially since they’re planning to shut down a sim as they try to plus up 15 jets worth of crews on top of attrition.

That would imply all the 50 seaters would come over from Envoy as well as all the planes Air Wisconsin has (or something equivalent), with no planes going to the desert.

considering they have said zilch to us on the line, PSA opened DFW, we have only around 140 lines for 3 bases and Air Wisky is back, gives me little confidence in expansion outside of Philly, Harrisburg and CLT.

Historically, it's always been easy for American to pit Piedmont against the pilots at Envoy and PSA especially when American wanted to introduce the EMB-175 and CRJ900 into the regional fleet. To this day, American has absolutely NO PLANS to introduce a new aircraft type into Piedmont's fleet needed for long-term sustainability. Honestly, American needs to dissolve Piedmont Airlines and merge Piedmont's assets (FAA licensed pilots, A&Ps, and dispatchers) into American Airlines.
