Default What happened to my post

I posted a rather big post about China and it's gone. WTH? Is APC not for info purposes??? The irony of internet control is overwhelming.

So, some pilots in Hong Kong just lost their housing. Pollution, communism, cuisine, political unrest AND INTERNET POLICING AND CONTROL, are reasons why so many aern't flocking to China. You couldn't pay me enough. A stinky NY crash pad with no heat in the middle of winter would beat China on a good day.

Then there is the military, airspace and flying with certain pilots in that country.

This. AA was banking on attracting applicants to the WOs without having to pay them by dangling the flow carrot. Once that plan failed miserably, the big money came. Now with flow, low upgrade times and big money year 1, the flow may be the small cherry to get a guy to go to an AA WO instead of EDV or Republic. When Envoy had only flow to offer to applicants, we were hiring less than 10/month. Now with low upgrade and big money, we had 105 start class in September.

It looks like Delta wouldn't even entertain it based off what I saw on their recent negotiation: Guaranteed movement to mainline. Not some gimmicky ssp/etd/dgi where delta is forced to interview someone who otherwise wouldn't have gotten the call. This is the reason along with the bases offered why people are flocking to work at the AA w/o's. Even though the money is rolled into payrates, its still about even to what they can offer but the kicker is the lack of flow. Anyone who has multiple checkride busts, a dui, or someone too old to volunteer on their time off or people without a degree will be going to one of AA's regionals. Its a guaranteed way to move to mainline and a no brainer. If endeavor truly wants to be competitive, they will have to offer a flow of some sort.
Couldn't be more wrong. If the WO pay isn't competitive, they won't get pilots. Period. Stop supporting the notion that we will put up with less compensation than we're worth under ANY circumstances.

But you do have a point about the quality of some of our pilots... you're a check airmen, you're a check airmen, you're a check airmen. Haven't busted a checkride?? Here's a fancy pin, congrats, you're now a check airmen!

That's just it: the AA WO pay is competitive. I agree when they had the flow but also low pay they had a tough time getting pilots. But now they basically matched the highest pay out there AND they also offer guaranteed movement to mainline. Not only are they getting CFI candidates, but also everyone who could very well be stuck at a regional due to some skeletons in the closet.

I'm not at all supporting that notion. Everyone weighs what is currently offered by the regionals and makes their decision on where to go based on a lot of components, money being near the top of those. If money is about equal what are you looking for next? career progression? bases? My point is that with pay being about the same, the next item is typically career progression. If it were only about pay, Air wisconsin should be the clear leader in pilot recruitment and be having full classes. Are they? I honestly do not know.

It will be interesting to see how they sweeten the pot if endeavor's new pay affects our new hire classes. I still see our classes being full, but there could be some new incentives for everyone. Will wait and see

^^ I'm thinking this is the only way we see increase in pay. A decrease NHs = increase in pay. (For all WO)

Default 2018 fleet plan

Has anyone heard anything on AA’s 2018 fleet plan as it applies to us? When does that normally come out?

Aren’t we still waiting to see the 2017 fleet plan?

All I remember was saying we will get 20 jets. We are now close to 30 of them. You would think they have a target number, it would be cool to know it.
