He may mean you keep your employee number when you flow. But I do have to say it’s fresh air to see some positivity in this forum. Move to CLT or PHL and the koolaid is sweeter. Don’t commute and this place is pretty great. People make this job wayyy harder than it is.
You kept your AA employee number since the airways merger.
Numbers mean nothing.. seniority on the big list and getting to 3rd year pay on the big list is all that matters..

30ish days from interview to class in most cases.
Indoc to IOE varies but 3-4 months is pretty common.

Training quality is generally very good. The failure rate is increasing but that is more a reflection of pilot recruitment attempting to hire people that aren’t likely to be able to leave soon after hitting the line. 1/4- 1/3 of new hires struggle and need additional simulator training or OE flights but very few are being terminated at the first sign of difficulty.

If you’re a cadet you won’t have a problem. The issue is with the pilot shortage many many 1500 VFR weekend flyers are second careering as an airline pilot. No instrument experience at all, and frankly have other things going on in life they deem more important than training because this is not the most important thing going on in their lives right now. Keep a good attitude you’ll do great! Welcome!
