Exactly.
The constant tweet storm begging pilots to pick up open flying is a big indicator of how screwed the airline is.
Also, the chief pilots are out flying the line regularly now because of how short-staffed the airline is.
Sure, Piedmont has been in hot water before, but this time feels different, and I do not see a way out unless they somehow make it a desirable airline for new hires to come to.

Considering PDT for the CLT base over PSA since I hear PSA is majorly backed up for IOE. How long is wait time for IOE at PDT? Can one expect to be off reserve and assigned CLT fairly quickly out of training?
Thanks for all the info. I realize the recruiters are not well informed or are giving out bad info.

so many people getting hired, why not leave? a little bit of effort these days and you’re out the door and on to bigger and better things than the small shop that PDT is. if you’re only applying to AA, take your horse blinders off, big picture: move on from this place to the big five (six, seven, eight, whatever it is). do you really wanna get stuck here during another downturn?

I start sims in a couple weeks and I’m a ways away from holding CLT. If the rumors that we’re almost out of upgradable FOs are true it might be a little while.
On the other hand, I jumpseated with a PSA crew over the weekend and they said CLT is even more senior for them

I talked to a guy last week that just got off OE and he started OE just a few days after his sims ended.

Pay is basically the same. It’s the credit/days off that’s the issue. While I have to go 11 days off to make above min, a PSA pilot makes 80-85 easy with 13-14 days off. That’s where the difference is. If you don’t mind making min, then come here, you’ll get 13 days off a month and if you want, work 1-2 days of SC to put you to 90+ hrs a month. Caveat, this is in a perfect world without JRMAN…

While I'd agree that things are probably still much better at PSA than over there, it's a fallacy to say it's easy to hit that criteria you listed. Basically takes being top half seniority in seat/base to be able to fix your schedule to something like that. The company does not build many lines with purely high credit trips.
But again as said before, you still have that ability (eventually) at PSA, unlike Piedmont.
