If that is remotely true it’s a big “yikes”.
Between 6 pilots flowing each month and all the CAs leaving outside the flow, PDT could potentially be losing more Captains than they can upgrade, effectively putting the airline in a negative red Captain situation. Of course, I think the airline is already there. Just look at the tweets from the company twitter everyday begging Captains to pick up open trips, and the “transparency” on open time is “BAD” for every single day.
Good luck this summer Piedmont when flying historically increases!

77 pilots have left since December. 25,28,24.
We don’t even have 750 pilots on the seniority list. This is over 10% of our list in 3 months.
Nothing to see here. No problem at all. Maybe management should open their eyes.

When has management at Piedmont ever been proactive? They are blind to industry standards and think the pilot group is a bunch of whiny babies that will never be happy. Yes, pilots will always complain about something. But when has management ever tried to fix any of the problems that have plagued Piedmont for years? Never. Kick the can down the road and send a dumb email about on time departures and right starts and controllable completion factor, that’s what they care about, not about the crews and their quality of life concerns.
Yes pilots are going to leave and will continue to leave as long as all the legacy, cargo, and LCC are hiring. Nobody is staying at Piedmont simply for “flow”.
However, the bigger issue is new pilots are not flocking to Piedmont simply because it is not a desirable regional airline to start your career at and spend a few years. The quality of life is trash, and it’s not a secret.

Meh.
It's amusing to observe the communication tactics being employed during contract negotiations.
For all of the pilots reading these forums, looking for the best option:
1. Go to the carrier that has a union and is an easy commute. If you do poorly in interviews, consider a company that has a flow program. Know that if your choice is phased out by the major partner that there will be other jobs available.
2. Don't fret so much about the pay and bennies. ALL regional airlines are a stepping stone. Don't expect much and you won't be disappointed.
3. Piedmont is in contract negotiations. What you read here and from the company has an agenda attached to it. Typically the slant you read is designed to elicit a certain response in favor of one side or the other. People who post here who are negative about the company are trying to dry up the supply so that the union will have more leverage at the negotiating table. What you hear and read from the company is slanted in their favor (of course). You can't get a reasonable response from either side during negotiations. It is what it is.

3. How are negotiations. Other than the new union reps are learning how tactical mk and the crew are. This time around the changes are necessary for pdt surviving.
