It's incredibly difficult to figure out which airline is optimal for you and your family when your primary sources of information are recruiters and pilots that are trying to earn referral bonuses. Making a good decision requires knowledge about the industry that most people don't have until they've already been working in the industry for a while.
Frankly I can't blame people for getting to Piedmont and becoming disgruntled that other airlines get a much better deal, especially when there's no improvement in sight.

With today’s technology, there is NO reason you can’t reasonably reach out to people from all across the industry and reach a relatively informed decision. I think others’ point is that PDT has never been this big shiny bait and switch - other than the 5-year flow that they religiously touted (not sure if they still do) which has been exhaustively rebuked on here as well (and can be quickly debunked if you’re able to divide and do some simple math) PDT has always been pretty close to a steaming pile for a long time (recent long time), but a steaming pile that works for some. If one comes to PDT expecting otherwise and spends their 4-days lamenting about PSA, Republic, Skywest having better QOL, well than yeah, about all I can say is, duh….

Incredibly difficult? I’m just not buying it. The pay and movement at Piedmont drastically increased during my time there, but the meat and potatoes stayed the same - an airline flying props or clapped out 145s, running the operation with clip boards and TRS-80s, horribly inefficient schedules, min days off, no technology to assist in pilot QOL, and a tool bag of a CP since JJP. Even with the tons of misinformation on this board, if you can’t parse out that PDT isn’t the most desirable place to hang your hat (unless for very specific personal reasons), your reading comprehension bl0ws.

Its’s currently looking like
7-8 for AA (Same as PSA)
3- 5 for United and Delta
1.5-2 for Jetblue
0-1 for Spirit and Frontier.

If they want to allow us to flow in 5 years by DOH we would stick around..maybe. A lot are leaving outside the flow because AA isn’t really a huge step forward. Still the same suffering brand, poorly ran, bad morale. Lets see how many take the 70k at indoc and leave for united/delta/ups within a year.
While the union is trying, the company avoiding negotiating aggressively proves they are ok riding a sinking ship. Shrink lines, run thin, make money till the last day. Sell the 145’s on ebay when its over. At this point PDT is a ground handling company with a pilot problem.

Pretty sure that is extrapolating current attrition rates into the future. And we all know how fast things can stop or change in an instant. Past performance is not a guarantee of future results. Consult your physician about a prescription before consuming. Side effects include salty co-workers, dry sandwiches, smelly hotel vans, and indigestion.

Had an AA jumpseater the other day who, when told how many of our (PSA) pilots were going to United, said "yeah, why wouldn't they wanna go somewhere with a good contract?"

We’re in contract negotiations, and we are lagging our peers in some ways. Our union has left many feeling disgruntled. That doesn’t make us equal to piedmont.

I genuinely hope they can turn it around and have people wanting to stay within their system in the future.
