Heck, I would love to ask him why he closed the door 2 mins late! Oh wait, last min bags were added, a CAS message just popped up, the weight and balance app isn’t working, you’re still waiting on fuel, but crap the weather at your destination is awful and dispatch just filed an even worse alternate but now you’re stuck in the phone tree trying to call them but apparently now the dispatcher on your release is not the one working your flight, ground crew is now banging on the plane asking to remove the gpu and and pc air, FA is asking to move passengers and their count doesn’t match the gate agent’s count, you’re weight restricted but gate agent is asking if you can take more people. Oh **** now you’re out late and that’s all they care about.

Enjoy your 2 days off between trips. Rinse and repeat. Schedules never get better with seniority, it’s sad.

The company better try like crazy to make the quality of life better at this place if they ever want to hire anyone, or keep those that are still here.
I've always been on the more positive side about Piedmont but this is spot on. This place has gone down hill in the last few months, and that's saying a lot! All they care about is CCF and that's it. A prospective new hire should give serious thought to the options they have in this pilot's market and look closely at other regionals with CLT and PHL bases.

Every regional is scrambling. The pressures and problems aren’t unique to Piedmont

True, but let's just say that Piedmont is not in a good position to outlast the other regionals.

Dying aircraft type, and inability to staff and hire, compounded with covid world and the majors hiring. 2022 will be a make it or break it year for Piedmont.

This is SPOT ON. Prospective pilots read it closely and take the words of those who’ve lived it to heart.

not clear that any of them are getting out of here in current form. One could argue Piedmont pilots would benefit from its early demise

Have to disagree, but whatever.

There is a flight ops leadership town hall next week. I can't wait to see the rainbows and sunshine and how they plan to spin the chaos that is going on.

"Everything is fine here, nothing to see! We are in a good spot!"

Sure...

first regional that folds there will be a feeding frenzy. Not hard to imagine the company x seniority matrix come January 2023 will be better if Piedmont folds April 22 than if it’s still going.

not an obvious certainty but it’s plausible

It 100% is. I mean, read the whole thing he wrote, in what universe would a delay for one of those reasons not be justified? I'm not even gonna get into how he dramatically said all those events are happening simultaneously regularly here at PDT. I've gotten calls and emails about delays and it was a complete non event. As flight operations managers they have a duty to, you know, run the flight operation. They may need information regarding a delay from time to time. Its their job, who cares. Just tell them and move on with your life. Idk why people on here act like the CPO is killing kittens. I really don't understand the melodrama.
