Yeah I think these numbers are way off.

The question was what does the doomsday clock say. We lost 7 to Spirit in September and about 3 LCAs. Six months of that gives you the 42 and 18 numbers….. Who knows when the things get rough here and every other Regional. 2022 will be a crazy year…

I see what you're saying now. Yeah, I wouldn't be having the warm fuzzies right now in management.

If all the LCAs apply and want out they will get out. They currently are getting picked up by United and Delta left and right. I know a former FO who just upgraded to CA and has been CA less than 1 month and he just got picked up at Delta.

AA is massively behind the ball in hiring and seems reluctant to pick up WO pilots outside the flow unless you are flywithDbag.

PDT management should see the writing on the wall but when have they ever been been proactive to try and fix things and make QOL better for their pilots? Honestly if the FAs end up actually striking than AA should really just clean house of the PDT flight department management.

The pilot who got picked up at Delta also has an impressive background in medicine. Summa cum laude bio chemistry graduate with chemo and cancer research. They're not handing out jobs for free at the majors

no but they’re handing them out left and right to impressive people like … LCA’s.

Sinking a ship only requires a leak slightly bigger than the bilge pumps can handle.

There has been almost 15 people in the past couple months who have gone to AA outside the flow. I see groups of 30-40 interviewees almost everyday in the recruitment office (same building as flight training). A lot of the outside Piedmont hires are just good people who have been trying to get on with AA for years, not just social media people. So I’m not sure about some of these statements. Btw I had a UPS 5 year guy in my indoc class so every legacy has people leaving class for others.

-PDT outside flow hire

Yup. This shows how much hiring is going on and how PDT is ideal for getting the experience needed to move onto AA. These young kids coming up nowadays have so many opportunities.

Default Cadet Program News

Looks like Piedmont is going to be announcing something about the cadet program tomorrow. Possibly reopening the program to new candidates

no point in becoming a cadet at PDT. Sure they have great propaganda and make it look like a sweet deal. However, please see past that. There is still zero reason for a perspective new hire to consider PDT until quality of life issues are addressed and PDT is brought up to industry standards.

PDT pilots are subject to a life far inferior than their counter parts in the regional industry. If you want a cadet program or an AA WO than go for PSA or Envoy. Stay clear of PDT until they actually start being a leader and take care of their flight crews by granting them things that everyone else in the industry already has. PDT is a lot of talk and very little action.
