Why would a judge be involved?

Has anyone noticed the time of this strike?

The vote would come back sometime early to mid October. Assuming they start the 1 month cool down period right away you are looking at mid to late November for a strike. If they hold their solidarity without scabs this could easily go until Christmas/New Years. Curious to watch it play out

The pilot group will recognize the scabs

For those interested:

DEC program is open at the same time many qualified EMB145 pilots are getting TBNT.

Wait, so what's the interpretation of this? They want DECs, but not DECs who are type-rated in 145s? Or are they not hiring EMB145 FOs OTS, but simultaneously opening the DEC program?

Side note, did anyone know a DEC who made it through the program who wasn't already typed in the 145?

They aren’t even upgrading current pilots on property due to “staffing”. Just flew with an FO who had his class delayed until November, yet we want to bring in DEC. Makes zero sense

I don't think it's just to bring in DECs, honestly they are just trying to get whoever they can at this point. Recruitment is struggling to attract people...surprise, surprise...

Let's be real, most pilots looking for a regional job today know that it's a pilot's market, and Piedmont has nothing special to offer that you can't get somewhere else.

Plus, the secret is out, there is HORRIBLE quality of life at Piedmont when you compare it to other regionals. No reason to choose Piedmont unless you have no other options. DECs sometimes have no other options, and PDT can blind them with bonuses and "flow".
