Pretty sure the company is open / looking for DECs. There’s currently language on the main company website for a $15k sign on bonus for DECs.

Rumor mill says the plan going forward is 20 new hires / month and 20 upgrades / month to be paired with the new hires in training. None of this is to expand the ranks or seniority list of total pilots on property but to keep the numbers stable on both FOs and CAs. That is of course if they can swindle new hires to show up to class at PDT.

The propaganda machine is in full swing. Yes the bonuses are attractive and they make for great advertisement and smoke and mirrors, but it does not fix a single QOL issue that has metastasized and continues to plague Piedmont flight crew. Side note, what our FAs are going though right now is beyond horrible.

Long story short, the new bonuses are the same at Envoy and PSA for pilots…. just saying, and a new pilot will enjoy far superior QOL at both of those airlines instead of PDT, especially if they are looking to stick around for years and wait for flow. This whole “come to PDT for a quick upgrade” is garbage. There are regional FOs getting hired at legacy airlines right now. That PIC time ain’t what it use to be. That’s just a Fact.

What is current reserve time looking like? I'm trying to decided between PSA and Piedmont, or a job other than flying.

I’ve been commuting to reserve for a year and a half.

Regardless, go to PSA. Please read everything in the last 15-20 pages and ignore that troll under different accounts.
Nothing has been fixed here, doesn’t look like it will be anytime soon. Lipstick on a pig with the bonuses and PSA has the same. No, the flow is not 5 years here anymore. Shorter than PSA? Yes. But you’ll still be here 7ish years.

Thank you for the reply. It sounds similar over there. I'm leaning towards not getting back into the airlines. The offers I have sound like they've got pretty terrible QOL.

I can't imagine 50-seat jets still flying 5 years from now, let alone 7.

PSA is fantastic once you can hold a R1 line. Their reserve rules are better as well-but it is still reserve.
Things stay the same at Piedmont regardless of seniority and the only thing to look forward to is getting out of this place.

I guess it’s en vouge to hate on PDT and I get it. But you do realize that increasing the flow to 9 per month MUST be contingent on hiring metrics. Or at least that is my assumption since the final language is not published??

I guess most of you guys would rather warn everyone else then get out in 33% less time then it could take. Six flows per month is 72 and nine flows per month is 108. Why be here 5 years when you can be here 7.5. (Sarcasm)

It is awfully nice of you!!

Cry non stop about a job you took in free country (which you can quit at any time) and then actively sabotage and undermine a recruitment effort that would get you gone sooner.

Keep up the crying. I’m sure it will pay off. Yippee!!

What is wrong with sharing our experience here? Why not tell the folks interested in the job how we see it versus the lipstick that recruiters put on it (in my opinion? Are you crying because your flow won't come sooner due to us 'actively sabotaging and undermining the recruitment effort'?????

PDT prob wasnt the best culture for me, I didn't know what QOL was. I was just fired up about being at a 121 operation. looking back I wish I did more research prior to coming here. Sorry to slow your flow!

From what i read, 9 per month effective November with an increase if we are properly staffed.
