The PDT threads used to be a good place to share info/news but its honestly been infested with negativity and trolls as of late. FFS, we don't even have the final language and people are complaining about 150k. If it works for you, great. If it doesn't, don't take the money. I don't understand whats so hard about that.
The sport *****ing here is seriously out of control. PDT may not be the best but it's far from the concentration camp some people make it out to be.

I'm pretty happy about this. Money doesn't buy happiness, but at least now I can buy a jet ski. Ever see anyone look unhappy on a jet ski?
I understand it may have strings attached. AA management figured out exactly where the WOs were losing pilots and they're using these bonuses to 'plug those holes.' I guarantee you the amount and benchmarks for each bonus were not chosen arbitrarily, and I'm fine with that because it means the bonuses bring us to regional parity or just slightly above. I get that the bonuses aren't enough to justify turning down a CJO to an LCC, much less a legacy, but it will certainly help with recruitment and it'll placate a lot of pilots, especially the ones dead-set on AA. I get that every day of seniority at a major matters, but if I'm being honest, I don't think most of us care about days, or even months, as long as we're financially secure and there's a light at the end of the tunnel. I won't lie, my ability to stomach quality of life issues is directly tied to pay. I'm not afraid of hard work or personal sacrifices, but I am afraid of not getting compensated fairly for them, and this is a huge step in the correct direction as far as I'm concerned.
With that said, let's wait and see what the final language is. Any word on what the pay raises are supposed to be?

I’ve spoken with a whole lot more today that aren't taking the bait and are keeping their previous offers and class dates so at least some still have some sense. Seriously though, it’s not as much about the money as it is the hidden implications it carries that some haven’t thoroughly considered because they’re blinded by dollar signs. Also, we really should keep fighting to actually FIX the issues that have plagued us forever. We should leave this place a little better for the next generation instead of essentially being bought off and kicking the problems further down the road.
I’ll be out of here shortly, but not to AA. Maybe they’ll divvy up my share amongst the flight attendants! Good luck

You’ll learn real quick of the joke that Reanid/Torquewrench/Spuds10250 is on here. Most people at PDT know who he is but he still likes making a fool of himself. He will keep making new screen names, but obviously he’s not smart enough to change his vocabulary or delivery to cover his tracks.
