An old buddy of mine used to say these ole’ 145s age like fine wine. You be good to them and operate at the HIGHEST possible standard, and they will treat you right.

I can’t help but laugh at al the doomsday talk. Piedmont shall continue to impress and be a vital part of the AA network.

Keep it up guys. We’re all so proud of you.
Hey TorqueWrench, go check your screws. Seems they got loose while being a cog in the machine.

Your best source of Intel is the spawn of the former CEO. Interrogate him on a layover. Load him up with Evo No.3 and take it from there.

I still say he never would have been sent to Piedmont if it were being shut down. That still holds true. Piedmont is going nowhere.

Honestly, I don't think it really matters where he ended up going - he's not at PDT for the long haul. He'll be hired at mainline outside the flow way ahead of those senior to him just like pretty much every other "legacy child".

He's a nice guy.. feel bad for him.. as far as him coming here.. could you imagine how it would look to have the presidents kids go somewhere else in the pilot community... if he went to the other 2 WO we would be saying something different. Such as the sky is falling.

At the end of the day this airline is a different place than a year ago and will be different a year from now. And at least the pilot group is unknown a to the future.

I personally don't see us growing..

Exactly, he was probably told “You’re going to PDT end of discussion. Do 2 to 3 years there as an FO and as soon as you upgrade you’ll be hired at Mainline”.

You really think he’s going to be at PDT for his 7 to 10 year flow based on seniority, Sure!

As far as I'm concerned LH did ok by me and his legacy for this https://m.valleybreeze.com/2019-11-20/observer-smithfield-west/pilots-honored-landing-burning-plane-frozen-reservoir#.YR_ceGkpDqs gives him a ton of credit. Let his off spring do his thing. Yes he holds a good hand and its his pot to loose but we shouldn't be talking about him on this forum..

I'll add onto this as well. Give credit where it's due. Lyle Jr. is in a fish bowl and trying to get him drunk to divulge 'secret' family/business information, then especially sharing it, is really underhanded. In the long run, he'll be fine. We all will. The majors need 20k pilots in the next 10 years just to cover mandatory retirements, there're only 20k regional pilots, and the military barely churns out 2k fixed wing pilots a year. Do the math. In the mean time, don't wreck someone's bright future over regional gossip.

Yep, the retirement numbers at AA alone are breathtaking. I don’t think people realize how much hiring needs to take place in order to replace the age 65ers. This is why we’ve always said Piedmont is a great place to gain valuable jet time while you polish up your resume. Flow has been put in full gear now. Plus all the attrition other airlines. The future is so bright, it’s starting to hurt my eyes.
