It’s going to get even worse. Outside of normal expected attrition, I know of at least 10 other CA’s and FO’s with CJO’s from UA or LCC’s. Maybe management knows it, expects it and doesn’t care, or maybe they’re just unprepared.
Either way, if I should quit picking up premium or double premium since they would have no choice but to give triple premium if no one wants to work it. At least PDT would then be worth it.

Triple costs them less than keeping the airline staffed properly. Not picking up any open flying would lead to a more staffed airline. Not making suggestions, just an observation.
Not sure anything is worth 7-8 days off a month.
Luckily I don’t commute, but that last trick they are pulling is going to cause more attrition. Zero chance I would stay here as a commuter for 11 days off ans 75 credit.

JohnnyJetProp fully intended to bail off of the island, but he's a lifer now. And he's got zero interest in improving any pilots existence at Piedmont. Nobody in management does. Every other airline learned the value of 1, 2,3&4 day trips. It makes scheduling easier, makes life easier. Not the morons running Piedmont into the earth. Stay away!
Pretty sure he's just angry and hates his life because he wound up at Piedmont and is now a CP and will be a lifer until he hits 65. He has all this experience and heavy time....and, here he is... I think that says enough about him and the type of person he is. Honestly, he doesn't give a S*it about the pilots he "manages" or their quality of life. All he cares about are the performance numbers, since obviously that dictates his bonuses and compensation. Calling pilots and asking why they called out sick? Are you kidding me.... must be nice to work from home and come and go to the office as you please with no ramifications for your actions or threatening phone calls or emails that you send.

That's literally the least effed up thing he's done. Ask for stories when you're in the climb past FL180. The guy is a dirt bag, through and through. He literally thinks he can just do whatever the hell he wants and nobody will hold him accountable and big AA will suck his dick, or something, for taking pay from dudes on medical leave (true story). Way to save AA big bucks, why is my stock down?

pffffffffffft….that was always my thought after hanging the phone up with him and being told how to get the plane off the gate on time….the only thing I’ll be impressed with is he’ll flow with less than 200 hours flying the line at Piedmont. it’s no secret that he’s not well liked, and it’s not just because he’s the CP…it’s because he is dismissive and doesn’t care about his pilots.

Does this dude actually have heavy time or is that a joke? I thought jonnyjetprop was relatively inexperienced as a pilot, but is chosen for management positions because he gets enjoyment out of putting the screws to pilots?
What I don’t get about guys like him is why they’re hurting their reputations for Piedmont of all places. This industry is small and word spreads fast. I don’t even work for Piedmont and I know of this guy and his rep, as do many of my coworkers. It’s like the old dash guys who were ATROCIOUS in the sim. Sure, they’re at AA and will have a good career but we all will never forget the horror stories that came out of the Piedmont training department. The one who was a former cop will NEVER live down how he treated people and the disrespect that oozed from every pore when he had you in his grips in the sim. There’s a handful of others in the same group. So sure, JP might feel empowered in his little cubicle for now but one day he’ll be the small man on the bottom of the totem pole and pilots don’t have short memories. I just don’t get it….. It’s the same mindset the plagues Fly With Jarod

and wow with that email from the union we all just got it confirms that management and a certain johnnyjetprop do not care about their pilots. Literally straight up abusing their workforce and violating the pilot union contract on a daily basis. Calling pilots to ask them why they called out sick? How is this CP still employed at PDT? Wasn’t he just in the news for an email he sent to tall the pilots during peak covid saying that he won’t allow pilots to be released from work to get vaccinated. Wow, just wow.
Someday soon, Piedmont will be forced to hire pilots. After the managers finally see they are far behind the power curve of hiring. It's going to be very difficult to convince candidates to come. Everyone knows Piedmont has the absolute worst schedules. PSA is a far better option now.
Any pilot seeking employment should absolutely avoid Piedmont.

I thought we were talking about another CP. Personally, I've only had good run ins with JP and I've seen him exercise fair judgment in my limited scope. Another CP, not so much. When the company screws up that dude takes your pay and you're left to sort it out with the union. I suspect he's trying to drum up grievances faster than the union can process them, so we effectively work for a company that doesn't have a contract. Guilty now until proven innocent and fly now grieve later.
