Piedmont Airlines News & Rumors

different times man. Back than AA and Airways just merged and they were planning on a bright future of expansion and dominance as the word’s “largest airline”.
Now, coming up on “post covid” and AA restructuring the fleet with axing the 190s,75/76,A330s, PSA’s 200s. Anything is really possible these days and you definitely can’t compare 2013 as an indicator to what the next 5 years will look like.
The can will continue to be kicked down the road the rest of this year and 2022 but PDT’s pilot contract is up in 2023, the pieces on the chess board are moving now for something to coincide with that.

The recent fleet consolidation was a knee jerk reaction to a once in a lifetime (please lord) virus and it’s associated financial downturn, coupled with some sketchy business decisions. They were staring down the collapse of the industry and it looks like they overreacted. I think you can’t compare anything that’s coming with what just happened.
As for your contract, you’ll probably continue along past the amendable date and your life won’t change. Or they’ll dangle some money, enough to get you guys on board and attract new guys and no real contract changes. It’s just an amendable date, not as big of a deal as some make it out to be. If they wanted to do something with you guys it certainly wouldn’t be a consideration. Who knows, but I personally don’t see you guys going anywhere
Maybe that’s what PSA kids call it but.... no one calls it that lol

Just wanted to say THANK YOU!
As some of you may be aware, the country is quickly getting back to normal. People are getting out and traveling more at an unexpected pace. We're about to reach a major milestone: 2 million passengers. The "end" is certainly in sight.
I think I can speak for everyone in the industry when I say "thank you, Piedmont pilots." Your fortitude, dedication and loyalty to your passengers this past year has been nothing short of breathtaking. Even when things were looking enormously bleak in Spring last year, you guys held it together and got the job done, each and every day.
For the youngers guys at Piedmont: someday when you're old and grey and senior at AA, you'll be telling your grandkids about this crisis and how you were part of something great.
When people look back on the pandemic 20 years from now, I think airline pilots will be seen as forgotten heroes (like we often are), and will be revered.
