Very interested in applying to PDT. Currently with XJT so you know the position am in. Was hoping someone could answer a few questions. First is which base is senior and which is junior and how long will it take to get ROA as home base roughly? Which base is recommended? Also how long can one expect to be on reserve? QOL? Pilot group? And any other important info anyone can help with would be greatly appreciated. Am weighing PSA and PDT and need some help making the right choice.
If that is not available, you will be PHL based as that is our only 145 base currently. I haven't looked recently, but i think you will be eligible for upgrade as soon as you finish OE as an FO which is currently running at 6-8 months due to backlog to get current turboprop pilots qualified.
We are also pulling guys with jet experience out of initial new hire class and making them instructor pilots. Teaching sim here is a great gig if you enjoy that line of work, they get the best schedules and positive spaced from home to wherever they need to conduct training and can still pick up triple premium on their time off. Most instructors i have spoken to do well over 100k annually with about 13-14 days off a month.

I think you should ask a recruiter about a DEC position on the Dash. ROA is the only base for it and will remain open until the end of 2018. I recently met a newhire pilot from XJT who was completing OE as a street captain. I had no clue we were even hiring street captains to be honest.

Like others have said, a few guys have been going straight to the training department, but you won't fly. They have guys who have been instructing on the 145 for over a year now and they still won't let them get line qualified.

Wow, yeah I would rather fly at this point in time. So what I gather the only base a new hire can expect is PHL and only a choice is the ERJ? I know PDT is only listing 3 bases on here so am assuming ROA and SBY are Dash 8 bases and are goin to close with the phase out of the Dash 8? Correct me if am wrong? Any other plans to open new bases with the fleet transition?

Ok understood thanks. CLT would be great! Wish they weren't getting rid of ROA. Am not sure what to think about PHL as a home base as I don't want to commute. Guess I need to do some research. All I've ever heard is that it's cold as hell.

Pretty sure it's cold as hell anywhere north of Orlando, but that's just me. I am not a fan of anything below 60 degrees. :-/
