A handful of better schedules but right now unless you're top 25 percent senior expect 11 off 75 credit.. schedules are a problem.. otherwise it's good here.

Without mentioning the F word- which is still the fastest btw:
Quick ugrades (12-18 months without airline experience, as soon as you finish FO training if you're transitioning from another airline).
300% premium pay allowing 2nd-3rd year pilots to make 6 figures goes a long way.
Growth (taking 2 jets a month now allegedly 3 jets a month in 2018).
No reseve currently for CAs or FOS. Virtually everyone is a line holder the month after they finish training.
Commutable lines.
Opportunities to get involved in various jobs outside of line flying due to attrition (We've got LCAs in their 3rd year and Chief pilots in their 5th year).
To address schedules:
Schedules aren't that great because 1/3 of the pilot group is in training for the jet at any given time and the company is writing schedules to "encourage" the union into accepting PBS.
Going to a PBS system which the company wants will decrease staffing needs by 15% allegedly (will probably be more in the 20%+ range based on how inefficient they write schedules), won't improve pilot scheduling to give them more days off or even more days off in a row, (just ask the folks at mainline AA who made the transition), would take away conflict bidding for vacation etc. and get rid of 300% premium pay.

I definitely recommend folks move to base when they're looking to come to Piedmont to make their lives easier but plenty of folks make commuting work.

Lol, some lines have 14/15 days off. But they are built w days off in the interface. First days of the month the company can add flying. So they break up left over trips from previous month and make the absolute worst, inefficient pairings possible. And you go to 11 days off. 10 years of senority plus doesn't matter. And also add a few more months of this now that the flow has stopped for the year and hearing quite a few ppl who have bypassed will be flowing in Jan. Until ppl stop dropping below min days off nothing will change. But, w all lines at min pay can't really blame them anymore.

[QUOTE=Pedro4President;2428651]I completely get why PDT is filling classes. Each airline has its pros and cons on why a pilot would choose. I am just shocked by the schedules. I get why people would choose PSA for SAP. To each their own.[/QUOTE
Yeah we work hard here upgrade and move to better places faster. We don't sit at home on reserve or do airport standby. We get paid and have great healthcare. If you want to sit right seat with 17 days off there are better places. I don't understand guys who want lots of time off at a regional airline or sit reserve and don't fly. I would rather get to a major asap and then you can bid a base and line of your choosing. Like you said each to their own. Lots of hungry sharp guys here with good work ethic at PDT. We are still early stages of growth with lots of flying to cover obviously but getting new overnights and international flying soon.

New question- What's your NH classes looking like? Are you getting military guys, prior 121 looking for the quick upgrade, flight instructors, 2nd/3rd career older guys, or corporate? At least a third of our classes are 40 plus guys at their first airline job.

Very interested in applying to PDT. Currently with XJT so you know the position am in. Was hoping someone could answer a few questions. First is which base is senior and which is junior and how long will it take to get ROA as home base roughly? Which base is recommended? Also how long can one expect to be on reserve? QOL? Pilot group? And any other important info anyone can help with would be greatly appreciated. Am weighing PSA and PDT and need some help making the right choice.

From the guys I have talked to they just enjoy the QOL and have a side job that makes good money. I think if we take away flow then these guys would be upgrading. I'm not trying to strip up any pots I'm just curious.
