So in other news. it seems a lot of other regionals are ramping up hiring and getting ready to hire yet PDT seems to be behind the curve.
Yes, there are a couple new hire classes starting now in March, but my understanding is that is to replenish the number of pilots lost during Covid that either quit or moved on to cargo / did not come back from leaves.
Fact; PDT is short staffed right now. There have been numerous company communications about how PDT is back at pre-pandemic staffing, the ongoing issue of confusion over picking up extra flying on days off and getting paid for if, and lastly the news from a certain CP that the company is unwilling to release pilots from work to get vaccinated because the company is so short staffed on pilots.
So am I missing something or is PDT once again behind the ball and being cheap skates and spreading their pilot group too thin?

We lost about 10 percent over the last year... early outs.. retirements... resignations.. so things are going to be right if we're expected to fly a much as they think.. we are 6 months behind the 8 ball..
