I hear you, and I agree. But the idea is getting floated that we should make concessions to lower our min guarantee so we don't have to furlough anybody. My point is that would be a terrible idea because once we give up pay or our min guarantee we're not getting it back until the market forces management to raise the standards so they don't have to cancel flights, which only happens after a whole bunch of people talk with their feet and leave.
Also, if we cut min guarantee to 60 hours, that's 36k/yr for an FO before taxes. An FO could literally bag groceries for a small pay cut, come back in 6ish months when a vaccine comes out, and end up financially ahead in a few months. Or we could all fall on our collective swords and end up making sub-40k through the entire recession and possibly years into the next upswing in order to save guys from getting furloughed who still may likely get furloughed anyway.
I mean, if I were at the majors making $250k/yr and taking a pay cut would mean I couldn't buy a new Aviat Husky this year, then I'd be all for taking pay cuts to save guys from furlough. But FOs are making lower middle class income as it is and cutting that any further drops us to where we're not doing a lot better than unskilled jobs. It's easy to live comfortably, modestly, at our current pay. Any cuts and it's tough to cover the basics.

Huh? We're on the same page. I just haven't heard a single person float an idea regarding concessions. So trying to figure out where this "rumor" is coming from.

...You knew the virus was coming for ten years? Well heck, why didn't you warn any of us?

Protect the contract, furloughs will be back. If your contract has nothing but concessions, why bother come back. All you will do is have to fight to get back what you gave up later. 8 years stagnated contract for what the flow. Wait and see what dougie does to aa, the butcher is sharpening the knives as we speak.
Only way they come after us is with Ch 11. You really think Doug wants to pursue that and have his main source of wealth devastated huh?
