The same ones prior to COVID who wouldn’t shut up about how bad Piedmont was/is. When Piedmont is short staffed again and guys like me on the bottom of the NEW seniority list are being junior manned and extended, they will continue their non stop ******** about how bad this company is!

Don’t become the new PSA y’all. Furloughs are better than concessions. PSA already shut the door on any concessions and most of the junior pilots are okay with it. You need a good company to come back to should you choose to go back when recalled. If a single WO takes concessions AA will expect the other two to do the same. That’s why Envoy hates PSA so much.

A lot of people don't want concessions because there isn't a whole lot to concede. Captain pay is only about $75K a year. FO is about $45K. That's BEFORE taxes, healthcare, or any retirement planning. We aren't exactly making mainline bucks here.

Taking a downgrade followed by a concession cut would be another bad double hit.

I understand the plight of the furloughs. But, at what point is it untenable to keep them on the seniority list?

My first year pay at this airline years ago was $25K. You'd be better off going on the dole if it got to that point.

I'm not in favor of concessions, but let's be clear that you are comparing apples and oranges. PSA did that to get new airplanes. We are currently in a completely incomprehensible situation that came from a global pandemic that shut down all airlines and travel demand. The two things are completely different. A temporary "concession" or drop in min guarantee to preserve all the pilot jobs at the company would be vastly different from negotiating to get new airplanes. Once again, I'm not saying that is on the table nor am I for it, but it is very different from what has come before.

It was. I’m also not sure why he even brought it up. He’s comparing then to now when I said PSA shot down concessions offered by the company this time around. Nothing is going to save the jobs except passengers.

Uhhh....because you said "Don’t become the new PSA y’all"

What else could you be referring to? Also, I 100% agree, we all need passenger demand to return.

thats how it should be. pay cuts dont work. ends up in ch11 anyways and then the contracts are gutted.
we average like 34 departures a day out of CLT. a pay cut will not keep everyones jobs.
this is how the industry is, its not our fault some younger guys dont know the older guys who have seen it all. they will tell you.
anyone here that wants a pay cut to keep their job quit the industry now.
full pay till the last day baby
