2500 American pilots may get furloughed on 1 October. Expect the recall and training to take 3.5 years of those pilots before a true New Hire is at American Airlines again.

Piedmont’s pilot contract is up in 2023. Who knows if flow will survive the next negotiation....

5-7 years was based on nearly 50% outside the flow attrition of the pilots seniority list....

Not sure when we will see a pre-COVID hiring across the airline industry again...

Technically the flow is still working. Piedmont is flowing 6 pilots per American Airlines New Hire class. The fact that American has zero New Hire classes means Piedmont is flowing zero pilots.

To be fair, there are not going to be anywhere near 2500 furloughs. Rest is accurate

Can’t imagine a scenario where anyone here would vote to give away the flow.

The MEC did put out an e-mail last night. We won’t get WARN notices. Only the 30 day notice required by the contract if furloughs are required.

Okay, we’re 97% sure we aren’t going to furlough 2,500. In the forecasted manning numbers, American has told us we are 1,600 pilots over staffed for July 2021. This does not include our short term leave programs that are already in place. When they told us WARN notices were forthcoming, they said 2500 notices does not equate to 2500 furloughs.

And they never told us no furloughs, for the record. Cash burn forecasted to be 0 by the end of 2020.

How in the world would they go by avoiding the WARN ACT.

The cash burn 0 by end of 2020 requires much faster recovery than what we are seeing right now.
23rd will be an interesting day, I'm afraid the projections then will be much worse than the previous ones given.
