Speaking of embarrassing...literally 1 upping ENY by 1 hour, and thinking that isn’t an insulting enough lowball.
But then they even 1 up themselves and offer 45h to work 1-4 days less. So they will pay 40% less for us working (depending on bid status) 1 day less?
And to top that! They insult us with being able to pick up open time! So you can work your 15 days off down to 11 days, and get paid less than 75h! With the reduced schedule, I doubt there will be open time, but even if you were able to block MMD for 4 days is 16h. 16+45=61.
Would you rather get an 11day off schedule at 61h, or 75. Hmmmm, tough one.
Thankfully common sense will again prevail among the pilots, no one will take these and the company will have to find a natural balance. Because right now 100% of the pilots get 75h. That is going to cost them more than 50% making 75h and the other 50% making 60h.
I don’t know where the balance is, but like I said earlier, 55h, is a starting point. But anything less is just shooting themselves in the foot (and wasting time drafting nonsense, and further reducing and semblances of a good relationship with the pilot group), because if no one takes the 20h or 45h insult, they are stuck paying everyone 75h.
Unbelievable.
Was this seriously negotiated? I want to give the negotiating committee the benefit of the doubt and assume this is PDT proposed and they said
NC:“How about 65h.”
PDT: “rejected, 20h.”
NC: “well that’s stupid low. Ok, we’ll see you in a few days/weeks after nobody signs up for that”

first, or last 15 days off, or sliding 15 days off.
as in, consecutive days off. which means you’ll work a normal schedule the other 15 days...it’s not a min of 15 days off, it’s 15 days in a row PLUS a few more days off, which they legally have to give us. maybe a 4/2/4/2 deal..you’re going to have more like 20 days off total in the month.

Ohhh, whoops. Well, we look the fool sometimes.
So it’s basically like a 1 slot vacation month.
Thanks for clarifying.
I stand by my 20h comments.

If American participates in the CARES act. I haven't seen any release yet that they are. If they start furloughing ground handling,/ agents, we know they didn't.

Some of our more industrious types will take the deal and pick up open time strategically during that 15 day off period. Pick up a couple of four day trips and you'll probably credit more than 75 hours and have a couple more days off than someone who is doing the standard 11 day off line.
