We’re also parking one for scope in May, going into short term storage.

American will be parking the 767 in May and 757 will start to retire May thru summer 2021. I see a possibility of more airplanes parking due to scope

I am probably wrong but I was under the impression the scope was a percentage based off narrow body AC.

You are correct sir. It’s is. American has 34 757s. As of right now AA is 4 RJs too much to remain in compliance with the scope clause. They are parking 4 E140s at Envoy as we speak... (Started at the end of Feb) The percentage is 75% of the mainline narrow body fleet. The save is I believe AA has 16 months to be in compliance after fleet changes. (I cannot back that up) The point being anyone spreading rumors saying PDT is getting 175s doesn’t even pass the common sense test. The cost of planes not to mention the cost to stand up a new fleet here would be astronomical. Money AA sure as heck wouldn’t spend now that this has kicked off. None of us know what the future will bring now so be smart, save your money. Stay safe.

I would expect more 50 seaters to visit a desert soon.

Well, depends how you look at it. More departures are from the regionals, but the regional carriers certainly do not carry more passengers.

Even if that's true, does that matter at all? Nope. Just matters that no one is buying tickets

Look at Italy and tell me this is some big overplayed virus. We are getting decimated, and retirements are the only thing making this hurt less.

Anyone heard if the training department is trying to get a transition syllabus approved for CAs to revert to FO? That would be a great leading indicator of the company’s furlough intentions or lack there of.

The intention of the company seems to be to keep hiring which is a great leading indicator that they’re not intending to furlough.

Ha! We aren’t even staffed properly now! We’ll be perfectly staffed in the companies eyes If we park a dozen planes. Don’t think we are going to see any furloughs or downgrades, but anything could happen.

Just trying to see others point of view, what makes you think they’ll keep hiring? When will they stop? Definitely won’t be any flows, I’d be surprised if more than three get hired anywhere between now and June, maybe longer. When will they stop?
