Saw my buddy in phl who is a captain here the other day... Said his trip got allll jacked up as his FO dequaled due to not consolidating, even with the extension. I have a buddy who's a new hire in SOE now and it appears that he will dequal and have to go back for a checkride as he also will not consolidate. It's getting really bad.
I hope they have petitioned the faa to reduce OE for new hires from 40 cycles to 20 or 25 hours. No reason it needs to be 40 cycles. That would help big time.

I'm sure it is frustrating but hang in there! You are gaining a lot of seniority and you are 5 months from being off probation. We aren't the most efficient at anything around here, especially training. I personally know 6-8 very qualified people who are willing to help, but are holding out for the right time...and that time has been well past due as of late. Not trying to pick a battle but that is the truth.

I am a new hire at Piedmont starting probably in November. Can someone tell me how much training they do that you can use towards ATP requirements? For example, I know Envoy trains you for 25 hours so you actually can start at 1475 hours. How much for Piedmont? Do they also count sim in an approved 141 program?

At the time it seemed like a crappy deal. Having to sit around for months at my house being paid to do nothing. The horror. But in hindsight it was great. Skipped months of sitting short call reserve. A few hundred behind me on the seniority list when I did finally hit the line. So moral of the story is enjoy it while you can. Because once you hit the line time will fly by and before you know it you've been there 3 years, you're a Captain, and you'll wonder where it all went.
No one ever laid on their death bed and said to themselves, "gee I wish I didn't spend so much time at home while getting paid for it".
