People in the July class would have already interviewed and accepted their class date well prior to the announcement of the new pay rates. It's too soon to claim any particular trend is occurring yet. August/September will be more telling.

The number of people in the July class was 10 as usual. The fact that 22 names dropped off the list (giving the net loss of 12) is what's telling.

I agree. My point is that it's too early yet to know the effects on recruiting/hiring.

However, if anyone was interviewing at one of the WOs in late April/early May, they would have known that everybody was going to get some kind of raise eventually. Just keep doing our job. And keep all our fingers this weekend...something will happen.

Exactly. I actually think recruiting might have slightly improved. But even when recruiting is maxed out and NH is full, we will still see very high attrition due to such terrible QOL, something hourly raises(especially with the relatively small salaries (take home money) compared to our peers) wasn’t going to fix.

Most of us knew this, we just needed management to see it, and had to TTM to show them.

But you're right, it would be a very bad move on the company's part to actually drop the flow rate.

Even with our new pay rates, we shrunk 12 pilots this month even after counting the July new hires.
If flow drops to 5/ month, the baseline flow time increases from just over 10 years to a solid 12 years for the last pilot on the seniority list if AA only holds flow classes 11 times a year.

Envoy's baseline flow is now sitting at just over 9 years, so it would seem Piedmont no longer has the fastest flow for new hires.

Court,
This will be going to court. Even though many of you will not be at pdt any longer than by the time it is fixed, there is strong STORNG case against the company including AA. The negotiators and alpa attorneys took meticulous notes. The company never believed the flow would drop below a lesser number once it began AA and PDT stated it was understood that the flow would never drop below its highest level no matter the list size. I have seen them, I know the plan. There will be punitive damages because this is harming your time at AA both pay and 401K contributions. Hang on... they are going to offer quite a bit when they see what ALPA has in its posession.

I think AA should just issue all WO Pilots a Seniority Number. That way if they want to withhold you then it won't hurt you in terms of Seniority at Mainline. Plus at that Point why would you leave?

They can then meter the flow (if they need to hold you 6 months or a year) and then once you go over to Mainline you'll probably already know your base and equipment and probably won't even have to sit reserve. Sure this will **** off all the Off the Street Hires but who gives a sh&*.

I'm at ENY but I love this idea.

OTS hires haven't been flying AA pax in AA metal for pennies. I really don't feel for them.
