That doesn't sound like the whole story...

Piedmont is said to have a low washout rate from training.

The last person that I heard of who left training did so by invitation due to poor performance and also was discovered to have lied about washing out of training at their previous 121 carrier as well.

Once again I do not know the whole story. This is why I'm asking for a realistic POV.

One pilot I spoke to did leave at 8 months. He was half way through his SOE, yet it was taking a l o n g time to finish. I have read this elsewhere so my guess the training department is backed up and their may be a delays in training.

OTT I know no details, and he was getting paid and travel bennies. Maybe he wanted to fly and felt he could go elsewhere??? Maybe it was concern that it was not happening fast enough, maybe he got another offer, may his elastic was shot in his underwear. Then again his time as a pilot may be short, and felt the foot dragging (my term) was holding him back.

WHO KNOWS.

Hence my straight forward question of how long does it take REALISTICALLY form indoc to end of SOE? YOu can give me a low and a high number or an average number, yet let's stay on point.

Right now I'm sitting at 6 months on property with probably another month to month and a half to finish SOE. Training times are speeding up but I'd say right now 6-7 months is realistic.

So jealous of you.. I'm ready for time off..

Some of the fos I fly with get a little edgy about not getting the flight time they want.. my only advice is you habe your whole career to fly and upgrade.. enjoy your time off..

That being said things are changing rapidly .... by end of year b there will be no delay in training and i expect 2 new hire classes a month to start in earnest.

"Time off" is 11 days off with two leg days while you are working. I understand their complaints bc rotting in a hotel room in Newport News when you can and should be flying more is unacceptable for the pilot group, and certainly should be for the company.

The schedules are inefficient crap.. they really have to do something.. we need a duty rig pay to penalize the company for building lines like this.

If someone left halfway through SOE, odds are they were asked to leave. Because SOE is your job. It's no different than being off SOE.

I heard there were a couple... I don't know the circumstances.

I believe there were a couple that just couldn't tie it all together. Could have been procedures, operation, whatever... Sometimes it just doesn't come together for the individual and they perform below average or below the standard in the actual airplane.

Personally, I am quite average in the airplane as well as in the sim
