The only fools are the ones that think holding out for more, will result in any more than will come for taking it now, and getting more later.
Y'all just seem bitter and have said it yourselves. "I don't care if they give us anything, I will bring the ship down before I take the raise".
And the ship might go down anyways, as it is slowly sinking. But lets get more money as it sinks, and hope they see that after throwing money, it is still sinking, maybe they will re-think, or just keep throwing money at it.
But you can't negotiate with someone who's mind is made up, when someone lays out their hand, there is no need to bluff them or strategize anymore, the cards are on the table. Take the money, and they will see the hand they thought they had was crap, when no one comes here, and they will come back.
The NC is either lying, or they themselves are foolish if they believe the company that PSA raises were for hires and our raises are not. What are they for then? The company just wanted to give us more money because they are nice? Again, the fact that it isn't $1/h, tips their hand a bit (as well as the CEO attempting to schmooze the pilots in the break room), of how desperate they are, and what they believe will fix the problem.
There clearly is a problem, it doesn't matter what they think it is or what they think will fix it. They apparently think ~$10/h will fix it, so we should take it. This will get us more money, AND show them it won't fix it.
IF (I use that word strongly, as I highly doubt it) IF, this meager raise fixes it, then that just goes to show you they are good businessmen (probably too strong of a word, maybe good current market guesstimaters is a more appropriate title), they know the min required to stay competitive, and with that knowledge were never going to give us any more anyway. So holding out is not going to anyone any good. Except the small possibility if we hold out long enough, the ship will sink.
The management isn't evil, they aren't challenging us or going against us. I think they are myopic, but not evil. they can't seem to look towards the future, and only look in the short term, and it will cost them even more in the long run. That shows how they are bad businessmen.
Let them attempt to learn the hard way, take the money! #TTM

I 110% agree. If (when) we take the money, nothing will change. We won’t lose any more/less and we won’t hire anymore/less. I say take the money, and let them see how short we continue to be as summer rolls around. Not to mention, this delay is costing me around $1500-$1700 per month. You know, more money is also sort of a QOL increase in itself.

It's far too late for any raise to have any impact what so ever on summer flying. This all would have to have been accomplished 6 months ago at the minimum in order for us to be better staffed for the summer season.
The company has made clear what their limitations are and that the only way it could change is if the order came down from AA.

just curious on your math. From what I understand our pay would go up like $8 bucks an hour on average if we accepted the rates they are offering. You are crediting 180 plus a month?

For the average 3-5 year captain it’d be a 10-13 dollar raise per hour.

Any particular reason an average PDT pilot should be making less than an average PSA pilot while getting less days off?

It baffles me. Pilots are tripping over themselves to pick up a raise that doesn’t even bring us to parity with the company who was the whole impetus for this raise process anyways. And all under the false hope the new hires are smart enough to realize that money doesn’t fix this place.
