AAG wants to give us this raise to help with staffing, right? Get more guys in the door, and slow attrition?
As nice as a raise would be for us, AAG and management are delusional to think that this raise will measurably help staffing. Even if we get what the company proposed, we're still behind PSA in every metric. We'd still have a lower pay rate (with their banding), we're still crediting WAYYYYY less hours per month than PSA, and we're getting 4-7 less days off per month than them. All at once. I'm in the top third of the seniority list and I'm still seeing 11 days off per month and less than 80 credit hours per month. Not to mention PSA has Philly and Charlotte bases, plus more, so there is literally not one reason why someone would consider us over the competition, even with this pay raise.
Moral of the story is that the company's proposal will not have the effect they intend unless we can offer more than PSA in at least SOME way. Currently we are miles behind on every front, and all the raise will do is make us less behind on one front.

the company doesn’t think we need anything so they will never give us more. sby still thinks we’re a bunch of whining pilots who barely works and only complains. Hell one of the lead dispatchers flipped out on a recurrent class and pretty much said we do nothing in between take off and landing. until that mentality changes from the bottom to the top we will be behind everyone.

I'm curious to see what the May new hire class ends up looking like. I am honestly not sure how PDT can lure anyone in anymore given that nearly ever other regional has better and more attractive offers for new hires including pay, schedules, equipment (not just aircraft) but like actual equipment, lack of paper, and shorter training footprints.
As we all know, it's a small industry, and any some what savy person does their research and talks to their friends and colleagues. PDT is not exactly cream of the crop in terms of regionals. The best thing PDT is known for is its solid flight crew group of people - let's not lose that when the company clearly has everything to lose in the current situation that's unfolding.

Pretty sure you guys don’t get it. This isn’t a contract negotiation. Yeah QOL is pretty bad here. However that doesn’t mean that just because the company offered some free money to help recruiting we can all of a sudden get everything we want.
As for new hire classes going forward your forgetting that most cadets all ready have received money from piedmont and most can’t afford to pay it back to go elsewhere. The cadet program alone will probably easily supply 5-10 a month. Throw in a few rotor guys who also received financial help and we’ll make our 13 a month class size.
I’m also not the only one that thinks this way. Last 3 FO’s I’ve flown with are ****ed at how the union is handling this.

Then leave...... it was no secret what you were getting yourself into when you came to Piedmont. It’s no surprise you only get 11 days off and get crappy line credit for the flying we do. It’s never been good even when we flew the Dash 6 legs a day. No matter how long a person has been here do you have a right to tell someone to leave. You leave. You don’t like the situation you got yourself into get out of it and stop whining. Why do you even come to work? If you want to be home more then I suggest a different line of work.
He is right. This is no contract negotiation. AAG wants to Pay us more for Nothing why in the world would you turn it down? So you can keep being paid crap? At least take an improvement when you can. If pay means nothing for recruiting then how does taking a pay increase worsen our bargaining position? Im willing to take the Pepsi challenge to prove that crap. We all know it won’t help. Yes our QOL sucks compared to our comrades. But I knew that before I came here. I don’t mind working hard for pay. Want me to work more and get 11 days off? FUPM.
I think there are many different views concerning this. I think asking the company for the improvements was correct. But I also understand that trying to go back into contract negotiations is unrealistic when all the company is willing to talk about is pay. If they want to only talk about pay then pay us what the QOL we have is worth. That’s more than PSA got. This is a business. A lot of the things we want is a bit of a gray area of what the cost would actually be to the company. It would take more than a couple of weeks to hash that out. Pay isn’t. It is what it is. I would rather get triple at more money per hour than our current crappy pay. I’m not willing to walk away with more money (the whole reason I come to work in the first place) in my pocket when the company isn’t asking me for something in return. It completely boggles my mind. Especially when it will finally prove to the company that they are forced to improve QOL because the pay increase did nothing for recruitment. No one in there right mind would come here with what PSA has. Same bases, more pay, more credit hr trips, better trips, more days off, and maybe even faster flow than us. I’m sure all the haters will message me about this post but I really don’t care. Some of these people’s posts IMO are ridiculous.
