I couldn’t agree more with you. The communication has improved dramatically. The list of things they seek were goals during the TA, they were negotiating with a tyrant that is not in touch with the realities of today’s market. I really hope management takes a look in the mirror and realizes that what’s being asked for is at many many other regionals. If they continue with this stonewalling approach they’ll continue to lose pilots and eventually they’ll lose their jobs for not effectively managing an airline. The pilot group has proven that we can be on time, efficient, and reliable enough to perform amongst the top of the regionals for American. All while management has run morale into the ground. Can you imagine if they did right by their employees? Full time flight attendants shouldn’t be able to qualify for food stamps, that’s corporate greed on a reprehensible level. As a pilot group we are simply asking for things our peers already have. Not asking for something outlandish and ground breaking.
As to your point on operating on time and reliably, it's kind of a shame in a way that we are propping this place up. Can't say my trips have all been on time because of management.... It's 100% on good crew members doing their jobs effectively. Yet management benefits by getting to take those numbers home to daddy. Funny how that works

VP of flight ops and the president of this company just said how great our performance is... you best believe they are getting fat bonuses on that performance, paid for by the sweat on our backs.

The string attached is our terrible schedules, pay, lack of qol, extensions and junior man abusive behavior continue... the us no such thing as free money.. in 2019, in this pilot market there is no reason for this to continue.

It’s all a matter of leverage. Glad you aren’t here because you are incredibly short sighted, and I’m a new guy. The way I see it, the union is helping the company. If we just grabbed the raises and ran we would be back at the table in a few months. It would be wise for both sides to get realistic with the issues.

There is absolutely no reason for anyone to even consider PDT right now. Unlike our sister companies, we don’t have decent schedules, pay, or shiny new jets and the bosses know they’re going to have to get very creative to dig themselves out of this crater or face the consequences. ICYMI 90% of scheduled interviews no-showed after the PSA announcement, it’s going to be hard for them to operate an airline with no pilots to fly the planes. They know this.

Management played hard ball last year during negotiations. They refused to come back to the table after the pilots laughed at the concessionary TA we were given, but we didn’t have much leverage to force the move. Now that the whipsaw is in full swing, the effects of their unwillingness to provide industry standard pay, QOL, etc. to those of us that keep the wheels turning are coming to fruition.
