If the stated is true, this is absolutely outrageous.
Upgrades are awarded in seniority order, not in the order of who is willing to individually waive contract stipulations.
Whose fault is it that we're short on FOs? Is it the pilot group's fault? No. It is the company's fault that we're short on FOs.
Is the company doing everything they can to get flying covered? No, look at open time. Out of 85 trips in open time, only 5 are listed for triple. 52 of them aren't listed for any premium pay at all.
Are they doing anything to improve the pay? No, they're not.
Are they doing anything to improve the contract? No, they're not. They gave us a concessionary TA.
They company is not doing anything meaningful to improve staffing. Instead, they're cancelling upgrade classes, and allegedly, only offering upgrade opportunities to those FOs that are willing to disregard the contract.
Any pilot that accepts this garbage offer (agreeing to a violation of the contract) is a god damn scab.
And why hasn't the union said a word about these cancelled upgrade classes? Why do we have to wait to hear about it on Facebook or APC?
Why is APC the first we're hearing of this 'deal' that the company is offering?

Not even close to what a scab is

Letting the company violate the contract, betraying the pilot group, for an immediate personal gain is betrayal. If not a scab, it's scab-like.

Letting the company abuse the contract on your behalf, for your own personal gain, is in a completely different league.
We can not let the company get away with back-door deals with individual pilots. That's how you start a race to the bottom. It defeats the purpose of a union. We're a collective, with a collective bargaining agreement.

Picking up open time is in the contract. There's a process for it.

This is the opposite of that, this is the company violating negotiated contract terms, and a pilot enabling it.

So if the company offered the affected FO’s premium pay in this situation it’s ok???
