January new hire class = 9 new pilots, total of 772 on the seniority list.

Looks like the growth has officially stopped.

Anybody know if that was on purpose? Or have people just stopped showing up?

Besides the what the wild rumors on here would have you believe,
1. The disappearance of triple premium on the FO side
2. The publicly announced intention to stop growing at 60 jets
3. The public announced intention to slow hiring to cover attrition

Would probably point to the fact that we’re staffed.

770 pilots is a boat load for 60 jets. Whats more, if you look at the flight attendant side of things, which last I checked doesn’t have a shortage - they have half the flight attendants we have pilots.

I’m hoping there are some teeth to the rumors of us getting more jets but all signs point to no.

Half the FA’s than we have pilots...2 pilot airplane and 1 FA...pretty sure that’s about the way it should be!

Smart.

What I’m trying to say is, if we’re growing and they can’t hire enough pilots, there would be more than 350ish FA’s on the list since they don’t seem to have a problem acquiring FA’s.

Does that make sense?

Guess the APA and AA are about to be underway for early openers. Going to be interesting to see what the company wants in regards to scope. Seems their hand is being forced to have 100-130 seat aircraft, who knows where they will go if they indeed order. it’s a mainline ac, but apa has shown no interest is looking out for Group1. they just forced the 9 most jr fos into the left seat of 190.

Yes, they can hire a FA and have them trained and on the line in a month or so. It’s closer to a year for a pilot, so no need to keep them in a pile on that side of the house. Honestly, who knows what they are doing. This place cracks me up everyday and surprises me they are still in business!
