We’re all working towards a common goal, just trying to make this a better place to be at while we move onto something better career wise. Don’t let the negative people beat you down, there’s no reason to make an fun job miserable because of morale issues - if you can help it.

They sort of promoted him to a new position, director of operational control. The job is more in his wheelhouse anyway. The new 119 CP will be sim instructor JP, and no not the JP you may be thinking of. He just retired.
I think the company likes having 3 CPs. The new one will be down in CLT.

You guys make me laugh. At least we're getting more airplanes and new routes, and even opened up a new base! Would you rather be at TSA who is losing their AA flying and having bases close? Or maybe you'd rather be at a contract carrier who doesn't own their planes and faces constant rumors of them being transferred elsewhere. The amount of b*itching on the FB page and here is astounding! I'm hoping for some more days off and a pay raise, but we are far from the bottom of the barrel!

Maybe our difference in opinion comes from how I see change coming about at Piedmont. I see many people who accept what we have and don't try to fight for more. My personal philosophy, and I think I'm right, is that things won't change here until the company realizes beyond a shadow of doubt that we are unhappy with the way things are done and are unwilling to continue this way. They are a particularly tough group to deal with and need to be pushed into a corner, and I don't think giving them wiggle room helps our cause.
I also believe they read these forums. I believe new hires should have honest information about what their life will be like if they chose to come here. I am happy to help people with questions about the company, but my answers will be honest. Maybe if I have been JR manned that day, it will be a harsher answer. If it's a day when I get to enjoy the beautiful view of our collective office and go home afterwards without changing my plans I made months in advance due to our antiquated scheduling department, then maybe I will be chipper. It will be an honest answer regardless, with only the delivery changed.
Again, I apologize if I come off as grumpy and disgruntled. I wish only the best for this pilot group.
See you on the line
