I think the company likes having 3 CPs. The new one will be down in CLT.

You’re both correct. While the “official” DEC program didn’t start until May, those who have the qualifications to be a DEC are being transitioned to DEC except they don’t qualify for the additional financial bonuses. Keep in mind that before Piedmont had an approved DEC program, new hires went almost directly from FO SOE to upgrade training.

Mostly true. I'm one that is in this weird limbo the company has created. We range from Oct 17, Nov 17 and Dec 17 hires and initially started as FOs. We went through systems and QPT as FOs, but then PDT got approved for DEC. We went right back to QPT as CAs, and then went to CUT at SBY and the next day the company announced the DEC bonus. None of us finished FO training or ever touched a sim as an FO. We went right to sims as CAs and now some of us are on SOE under the DEC program. None of us have received the DEC bonus and the company doesn't seem to want to talk about it....Even though we are doing the 90 hour SOE as DECs and not the standard 25 hours that an FO who upgraded would be doing.

We did them a favor and skipped FO training and went right to CA instead of going through all the FO training and then going through again as CAs. It would be nice, and in good faith, for them to return the favor and reward us with the DEC bonus since that's what we really are. I mean, I'm not holding my breath, but I'm sure it would have been more expensive if we did all that sim training as FOs and SOE as FOs and then went right back and did it all over again as CAs, but we spared them of that. Plus who knows how long that would have taken given the huge backup in the training department.

It's kind of a double edge sword of bs. The company's stance is that we are not DECs since we were hired as FOs and upgraded. Our response then has been why are we being treated as DECs and doing the DEC SOE? The answer is simple, we never line qualified as FOs, so the company saw an opportunity to bypass all of that extra training and get us to the line quicker as CAs once they were approved by the FAA for DECs since they are so short on CAs.

the DEC bonus is not in the contract at all... it has to be given BEFORE you sign the contract to be hired and fall under the union contract. That is why those of you in that migration period can not get it. You already fall under the union contract and can't be paid outside of the contract.
But here's my next question, the actual DECs that they hired (not us weird ones that are in limbo that they upgraded) They are on seniority as CAs and that would mean they are getting CA pay from day 1 of indoc right? My self and the other 5 are still on FO pay (since we were hired as FOs) but we are doing the DEC SOE since we upgraded and never line qualified as FOs. So should we be getting some sort of bypass pay since there are CAs junior to us on seniority now? We 5 hold CA and are on the permanent bid as CAs above the new DECs. Like I said, the company has created quite the problem.
