Oh that’s right DAL UAL Fedx Brown and NASA all want E145 FOs. My bad.
I can see if you are a DEC the timetable would be a little concerning. SOE letters do get interview calls. that should be your play as a DEC

Things are moving quickly in this industry right now. Spending nearly your entire first year with the company at home on "vacation" making 2200/month while your peers at other airlines are building time to apply to the majors, you're falling behind. If you want to sit back, relax, and wait for a flow with no guaranteed timeframe, then this is the place for you. If you want to start building time to get to a major ASAP, this may not be the place for you.

I was being generous with the 6 months. I have a buddy at PSA who started LOE 9 weeks after his first day of indoc.

I'm aware of the movement within the industry, but there have been a growing number of people hired well before reaching anywhere close to those hour timeframes. That's not my point though. Besides choosing a regional for a base, people often pick a regional that will give them the fastest career progression with a quick upgrade. PDT was advertised (at least to me) to have a quick upgrade and the fastest progression in the industry, yet little did I know that it takes 9+ months to reach the line. So that 12-15 month upgrade? More like 3 years.

In the very recent past guys would upgrade at year 6 then spend 2 years in the left seat to get picked up at a legacy. And many would have to wait longer or never get picked up. Now its guaranteed in that time frame and guys are upgrading at 2 years and going to Delta, UAL, Jetblue, Spirit. You've got the right idea upgrade but apply everywhere you want to work while your still an FO. DO NOT wait for the flow it's better to have 2 years seniority somewhere else when hiring is 800 a year it makes a massive difference in this seniority based industry. Buddy of mine was an FO, went to F9 for a year and now is in new hire class at Delta. No PIC time at all. Its a different industry with all the hiring going on. Apply, go to job fairs, network, that is key.

It is true that if you put in a preference for CA and you are awarded it, you will be held for 1 year before flowing.

Time off doesn’t hinder career progression if you use it correctly...
