With all those on loa or flowed or about to retire we sit just under 600 pilots.. of which less than 400 are line qualified. We have a way to go so that we can staff all 56 this year.

Plus we have the dash transitions that will go on throughout the year.

My heart fell through the floor when I first saw this lol. Like damn well there’s an extra year to my flow time. Lol.

Then I realized that’d be a class size of nearly 10% of the whole airline lol.

It is more than 56...I can say that much. The rest is a combination of training capability and reaching consensus on this agreement in the works. We might need some "safe spaces" for that one though.

Also doubt they’ll be able to bump to a net of 30 anytime soon... ?
Net gain Gain of 30 pilots a month?

That’s ambitious... in the last 12 months or so PDT has had an average net gain of 8/ month.

The pilot group will probably end with 760ish on the seniority list at the end of 2018 unless something drastically changes.

To clarify, are you saying future growth is dependant on signing this TA now?

Out of curiosity, why?

If there are reasonable gains, then I say yes 100%. Perception is reality to perspective new hires. No one appreciates uncertainty and division in an organization, when at least some gains could be made short term. Let's not wait for the possibility of better, when better could be staring us down. Then, if we can't hire, it will improve by default and need...not because we are obstinate.

Well, the week is basically over. Where’s it at smugglin? Where’s the announcement from the MEC? Where’s the ALPA National email boasting of our successful negotiations? Please tell me you’re not one of those people who post stuff as fact when it really only lives in your head?!
