I don’t understand why guys EXPECT hotels in their base. Sure they are very nice and VERY convenient but it’s your base that’s your “domicile” you should plan accordingly, like a crashpad.... At my prior carrier we never got hotels in base and if training was done in your base you didn’t get hotels during that either because, it’s your base...

I came here from TSA 1.5 years ago... both of these birds are in my logbook from when I was at tsa. Where did this info originate? If this is true, it could very much shake up the next base situation.
Also, supposedly the company is no longer providing hotels in phl if you cancel in th middle of a trip in phl.... FYI. The bar is about as low as it can go.

Well, understand because it’s industry standard right now. Because we have the lowest qol in the industry and this is another item to make it worse. How about because providing hotels to a commuter heavy airline pilot group when unscheduled overnights in base occur is just the right thing to do. But I forgot, LOA 19. Flow... we must sacrifice everything for it.
Is your life worth giving up days off to cover the incompetency of PDT management?
Is it fair for you to work an extra 3.8 hours without a junior man stamp because this place refuses to conform to 21st century scheduling technology?
Is it fair for you to spend your hard earned money on a hotel room because scheduling decided to mess with your trip last minute? Is it fair that you earn significantly less than your peers at other regional airlines?
Is it fair that you get paid 16 hours for a four day trip, away from your family and friends, because this company refuses to give us efficient trips?
THEY are deliberately doing this to YOU. They do not have to treat us this way. There is a better way of operating an airline. Every other regional on this planet (save mesa) treats their pilots better than this company treats us. So the next time you miss your wife's birthday, or your kids soccer game, or your friend's wedding, just remember that they did that to you on purpose. There is no mistaking that what they are doing is deliberate.
