A lot of airlines are trying to get rotor guys now, so that pool can only last so long. I do give them a lot credit as i don't know if i could have made the transition with so little fixed wing ifr experience. And i certainly suck at flying rotors...
My sources in active army circles say big changes are coming to stop the outflow of pilots. Longer commitments for flight school being one of them. Yeah I think the RTPs will even be short in a year or two.

All these rumors of a merger become more plausible the more Salisbury continues to come up short. I'm sure AA knows what they want out of us, what can realistically be achieved, and when they will pull the plug if those things don't match.

I think too though, things always get pretty bleak during negotiations. It just seems to be how it works anywhere. I still think there can be a bright future here, if we cut the tomfoolery.

I'd just be happy with not getting a 6 day interface work period and than not extended on day 6..

That absolutely sounds like the Army. Fix nothing. Make them stay longer. Perfect. We'd be stupid not to do it.

Hey it worked for the Navy and Air Force... the Navy went to so far as to intentionally PCS folks in certain flying communities to non flying orders to prevent them getting out flight current. Fortunately today non currency isn’t as big of a deal breaker as it was 10 years ago.

That won’t change anything until however long the increase is. Ie 8, or 10 years from now. Not to mention it’s not the ones just starting/finishing their first obligation that are unhappy.

Blended retirement is probably going to do more to push these incoming pilots out than anything. If there’s no disincentive to leave (losing your entire retirement for leaving <20), people mildly unsatisfied will be out as soon as possible.

I came here from TSA 1.5 years ago... both of these birds are in my logbook from when I was at tsa. Where did this info originate? If this is true, it could very much shake up the next base situation.

Also, supposedly the company is no longer providing hotels in phl if you cancel in th middle of a trip in phl.... FYI. The bar is about as low as it can go.
