Wait between last day of ground school and first day of sims is sitting at a minimum of 6 weeks right now. That's for the lucky few who are called first. With the Phoenix sim being down all this week, the backlog is only worsening. As of now expect a 6-8 week wait between ground and sims, possibly longer if you're one of the last called.

I am well versed in training "bubbles" going through Initial Entry Rotary Wing at Fort Rucker, AL. Longest one was six weeks between Primary and Instrument Training. Looks like the civilian pipelines suffer the same mismatch between demand and throughput. Not the end of the world. Not efficient either.

That’s what I said about 6-8 months ago until MKultra jumped down my throat screeching ‘blasphemy’ from the PDT halls of excellence.
That being said every regional has its own **** sandwich one way or another. PDT is training backlog and schedules going by the posts on here.
Envoy is pay, reserve rules, metering of the flow and un-sustainable expansion.

I see the problem with waiting and not getting your time I in this market. We have a massive bubble now of no pilots having the time to upgrade.. company ensued ofcourse...
unfortunately from my side I've worked my a@@ off here and a paid vacation would help me take some time to treat the horrendous hemorrhoids this place can give me..
Back in my day sonny i went to ground school with no shoes... and so forth..
Im sorry if i offended... we all have different perspectives..

You’ll find a lot of similarities between military and Piedmont training inefficiencies. However PDT has the lowest NH failure rate of all the regionals (last year it spiked to 4% so they changed the hiring process to become more restrictive for folks with a history of FAA check ride failures) so it’s not all bad news. As long as you act like you want to be a member of the team and put some effort in, they’ll get you through training, even giving you extra events beyond the standard footprint in order to help you be successful, unlike the military where there was a more rigid training footprint and a higher washout rate (at least on the fixed wing side of the house).

For this to be the case, we would have had to have a gap in FO hiring about two years ago, which most certainly did not happen. The company even got rid of the 2500 hour rule, which opens up the upgrade opportunity for all the guys hired with R-ATP

Anyone else get burned by crew scheduling with this new CP memo?
Allegedly, the company is not liable to give us back any days off we miss on a forced overnight due to weather or maintenance. Due to this last winter storm in PHL, I am now down to 9 days off this month - with no reprieve in sight (days back OR pay). Prior to the memo, we would get our days off back that we missed.
I feel like this violates the spirit of 11 scheduled days off, per section 12. However, the language of our contract is admittedly not awesome for this particular scenario.

You have an obligation for self help under the RLA (call the chief pilot, call a rep), then if you and the union cannot remedy the situation and there is a clear violation of the contract you can go through the grievance process. You don’t just automatically file grievances when you think a violation of the contract has occurred.

I'm not going to grieve it because the contract doesn't explicitly say they're wrong. That being said, I would like to get my days back... It's bad language which allowed for this.
I will keep you posted.
