I wld foresee more leaving hired 15-17 who got their pic time and want to live or commute to someplace other than phl. Maybe we loose 15 or so motivated ppl in a span of 4 weeks and it trends. Company will be forced to bring filets to the table. Albeit, they will be flank steaks from corn fed stock not grain and grass. Still will help get the awful taste off everyone’s pallets who graze on these awful schedules.
I have to think it’s more attrition than that. Our union keeps track of monthly attrition and hiring numbers.

Problem with piedmont is everyone got lazy last year... Triple premium... Comfortable... And many I think were assuming they were closer to the flow... But american didn't have two classes.. We're still at 5 month.. And now the senior guys who bypassed are now getting out of here...

My New Years resolution is get to a place with better schedules and pay no matter what...

I really don't know how they are going to keep a lot of the new captains here this year.. They are prime picking and they still have 5 or 6 years for the flow... I know many now that have gotten calls for the initial interview...

It goes up based on hitting growth markers of total pilots on the list. If they dial back hiring they, don't hit the markers and the flow doesn't grow. (At least it doesn't shrink!)

Yea, I thought they were over the next threshold as of a month or two ago.

We're at 654 on the seniority list .. 725 is the threshold for 6 a month..

December class had 11 new hires.. we lost about 11 off our seniority list in December.. a net gain of 0.

We will have January class nh numbers soon.

Also an interesting note... people do not fall off the seniority list when they flow until they finish mainline training.

Hopefully many of our guys are interviewing at the legacies and UPS/FedEx. I know of a few with interviews. And not that it matters, but I think these senior people changing their minds on flowing shouldn’t be allowed to. When your number comes up, it should be take it or leave it. Let someone else get the opportunity if you’re too comfortable here or you have other obligations.

AA and the WO management’s are going to raise Captain pay by the summer or thereabouts is my guess.

Every time I talk to a senior ROA or SBY captain, I make sure to talk about how bad the commute to MIA or LAX from their respective base would be
