What is the current time for new hires to complete training? I've read the "ideal" time for each phase, when there's a break here or there etc. I've also read (from a few months back) about 2+ month breaks in the training and guys getting permission slips to go back to wherever and fly while waiting for the call to continue training.

So currently, from the first day of indoc, how long to be at your first base?

Some OCT new hires have been called for class from what I hear.

I may be wrong but the goal i believe is 50 students a month going through the system. SBY and ROA will take some time to get transitioned. Then again many are taking the flow or retiring.

There are others here that have More intimate knowledge of the situation.

Just about to start SOE (IOE), I was hired in May. That being said, things should be faster for new hires.

We are due to lose a few instructors to the flow these next couple months however.

End of 07s. Into dec 07. Few guys who bypassed have opted to flow recently. Will be Into 2011 by summer/fall. Only have a handful of 08 hires who stayed through the dark days.

Affirmative.. We should be wrapping up the 2012 hires end of 2018 and 13 start of next 2019.

27 2013 hires..
38 2014 hires...
102 2015 hires

We are flowing 5 a month right now.. Will go to 6 a month with an additional 75 pilots on property. If we can continue to hire that puts us around June to flow 6.

Rumor I have heard.. And this is rumor.. But American 'needs' to increase flow numbers.... Plus with all the hiring this year.. Hold on to your butts!

Get your time.. Get out! I don't see many 15 and later hires sticking around once they upgrade as there is going to be a lot of opertunity outside of the flow.

I thought once your number comes up for the flow, its a one-time chance? Those who choose not to flow can change their mind and flow at a later date?

Yupp. If you can hold flow you can check "NO" and switch that to 'YES" whenever your little heart desires. I know two individuals that are going to stay another 4 years before flowing. (Kids in highschool).
