FO Sun Air Express

PIT is a pretty junior base however JHW is a pretty desirable base because of low coat of living. Based in JHW when worked for SIL flying BE1900's desirable then two and CJC has a base there before the purchase by PNCL still then a desirable base.

I was offered a class date with Sun Air Express up in PA. Navajos. Requires me to pay $10,000 for training, $2,500 of which can be deducted from pay.
Covers 6 or 7 flying hours and a 2 hour FAA checkride.
That's $7,500 up front to begin training. All to make $12.50 per block hour as an FO. captains start at 55k. Not bad. I'd get there at 135 IFR mins. (1200 hours)
I know pay for training type FO programs are frowned upon, but it is a job offer and it's multi time.
I'm not a CFI and don't plan on becoming one so my options are very limited.
Should I bite the bullet and view it as an investment in my future, or sit tight and wait for something better?

Why not spend that 7500 on a CFI instead of being about as close to a scab as you can get. Some airlines toss applicants with PFT time in their past straight into the 'circular file.' You won't regret that CFI!

Oh I am not silly enough to name names, but with all the PFT BS going on years ago, you know that there are some folks that made it to the top without PFT'ing who are a tad bitter towards those who did. Now these slightly bitter folks have made it up to the hiring committee. As a human, can you imagine when they see Johnny Q's no PFT resume, and Johnny P with his career and time at (fill inn random PFT) ???
I have heard it from several folks at legacy and cargo carries; be in Sun and Fun, Oshkosh, or the goat rodeo that WAI has become. PFT can get you tossed into the circular file. Not everyone, not everywhere. But enough that I wouldn't risk it!
