[QUOTE=crewdawg;1354775]Say reason? If there is a waiver for your condition then the AF has seen fit that it's not that big of a deal. So there is no reason they should not get you the waiver. Exactly who said they wouldn't give you a waiver? If it's a pilot in your leadership chain saying they won't do a waiver. It's time to try for another base, you don't want to wor for someone like that anyway.
The Air Force Reserve Surgeon General was the one who denied my request for a waiver. Reason being is I had back surgery in high school.

That is what I have heard to. Since I started this post I have been working with a ANG guard and we are currently trying to put together a case... I am going to keep pushing...
And yes I have checked Baseopps.

Not sure how it works in the Reserve, but in the ANG, you're selected before your physical. So by the time you get to your physical they already have said we want this guy. Getting a waiver is really a non-event, and shouldn't stop you're progress.

I've been out of the Reserves (full time Ops Officer) for 7 years, BUT, you had to have an Entry FC1, done by an AD FS at an AD Hospital, before being considered for the AFRC Selection Board, waivers, in my 18 years, were rare.
Could have been relaxed, but I doubt it with all the cuts.

The ANG, does it totally different. You just send an interview packet into each individual squadron. If selected, THEN you're enlisted into the guard, BEFORE you do your FC-1. If you need a waiver, it's requested....If its granted, you're good to go. If not, you're released from your commitment. Needing a waiver is a none-issue as you have already been selected.
Interesting to see the differences.

I'm trying for ANG slots now, especially after seeing my friend get a waiver for the exact thing I need a waiver for and he acted like it was pretty easy to get.

Ya, that's what I figured. I wish you the best of luck.
Just talked with a good friend of mine. He was picked up in the reserves, about 5 years ago and he said this is still the process. He wasn't sure about waivers, as he didn't need one.
