Is there any benifit for a non-asian pilot looking for additional certificates to come to Transpac? Would it help if he/she wanted to instruct down the road? What's the difference between the DVT operation and the CHD operation?

You get put with some of the more experienced instructors. Even though it doesn't say it, you have preferential hiring. Especially if you started before your CFI. CHD is for Chinese program only.

Non-AC airplanes won't be dispatched between hours of about 10am and 5pm on the hottest months but they never fully ground stop the school.

I was there when we had 400 students and the planes flew almost around the clock. The only issue I ever saw that was directly related to heat was that the engines had a tendency to vapor lock and fail if you rammed the throttle forward too fast on takeoff. I used to tell the students to add power slowly for takeoff on the worst days and I never had it happen to me. It was pretty much a non-issue at that point since you weren't in the air or really moving when it happened. Most people would just exit the runway, taxi back and takeoff.

The only time I heard of it happening in flight was a guy who shut down an engine in a seminole and couldn't get it restarted. From what I heard they suspected vapor lock because they couldn't find any problem with the engine after he landed.

NACO. They're too cheap for Jepp.

I did the ILS 5 CGZ but that was a long time ago. They tend to like to do ILS approaches so I would study the ILS 5 CGZ and ILS 30C IWA.
