CFI Stuck at 67 Multi.

Thats it...it sounds like if you get jet time and an ATP then the multi time will come.
On a more helpful note try a website pilotssharetheride (google it). I posted there when I was a new CFI and ended up with a handful of hours flying twins around the area as seat ballast and company which led to hands on flying and then later doing IPCs and safety pilot time for their currency.

I had trouble getting multi too. I had my Multi-engine ATP with 45 multi, which is worthless. The 45 hours was from the training for the multi, MEI, and ATP. I had little money to pay for multi-time, but I flew when I could. A group of instructors bought a twin commanche together to build time. I wan't one of them. I ended up getting some right seat time from contacts I made "living" at the airport. That lead to left seat time. Eventually, I was chief instructor with all the multi students. I think it took too long, but I got my time. My advice: 1. Don't let the opposite sex slow down your career. I did. Sure, I'm happily married, but it cost me years of my career. 2. Go anywhere and fly anything. Don't be picky. I was, and it cost me a lot of seniority at the airlines. I'd be a 757 CA and not a 737 FO! I was trying to pick which airline to work for and what part of the country. Worry about that later; get a job now. Now I have over 10,000 hours of multi time and I don't need it. A local guy just offered me a part-time King Air 200 job. I laughed. I don't work on my days off.

Multi Time
Maybe you should buy a twin?
A friend and I bought a piper apache. He got his rating and I was able to build time by training others in it. In a short amount of time I was able to build a few hundred hours and we ended up selling the plane for a slight profit.
In the end I did not have to pay a dime for my time. There are lots of people out there who are looking to build time in a twin. It is no fun to have to think about spending even more money on this loosing career but the reality is that we all continue to pay.
Next it will be simulator time to prepare for interviews then it will be a type rating for a job and then it will be through subsidizing management by low wages as a regional pilot. Moves, crash pads ect...
In the end we all pay and pay. It never stops.

An acquaintance of mine from the flying club did the buy-an-airplane route. He bought an old Apache for about $15,000, paid a few thousand more to get its annual, and then flew the heck out of it for several months. Got a job at Netjets. Then he sold it for close to what he originally paid.

Just got a Saab 340 FO job. Wheeeew! I'll tell ya, my Climbto350 membership has proven to be as useful as tits on a BOAR. In this econ. and with the plutocrats tearing our industry in the USA down the way they have, nothing beats feet on the ground! LEAVE the USA people. I don't know why we are putting up with this. It's called BRAIN-DRAIN. For the longest time Ireland's biggest export was...its people.

Blah. Blah. Blah. I've heard that over and over and over again. The bottom line is the, "You've got to believe in YOURSELF attitude." YOU...my friend need the attitude adjustment....not me. We run this industry... NOT THEM! Until ALL of use wake up and stop being sheep, we will always see losses.

all All accounts of me are that I am too nice a guy. There is NO "chip" on my shoulder. If there is a chip, it's the chip of US. Not the plutocacy. If, and I mean IF we ALL had this attitude, we would not be where we are today. I myself and the DO of this op. had laughs, LAUGHS during our interview. I'll work hard for him because he offered a realistic deal. The attitude that kills us is, "What?? He won't fly for $21k??? I'll do it for $19k." Who's our enemy? Think before answering. My attitude...wins. For ALL of us, not just me.
