Default Denver Area

Ok guys and gals. I need something to keep the wife happy in the Denver area. She's going to medical school and will be making a little money while there but I need something to connect the dots when it comes bill paying time. 1100TT, 40 MEL, lots of different SEL time, 400+dual given, CFI CFII MEI. I have no problem signing a contract either as we'll be there a minimum of four years. Driving an hour or a little more from Cottonwood wouldn't be a problem either.

Here's a couple links to help you start. Depending on where you live (and assuming you won't be doing to GL), you should look at options at either Rocky Mountain Airport or Centennial Airport to start. I would suggest looking at the different companies in the links I provided and go to the airport and start talking to people. I'm not sure if the market is saturated with flight instructors or not, something you'll have to find out I suppose.

Good Luck!

Thank you both. I applied with GL but am a bit short on MEL time. Those links should help a lot. I am making a house/job hunting trip April 20th. With any luck at all I can catch some Chief Pilots in their offices. Obviously I will phone first. I only have four days to get it done though. I can't take much time off my job here.

Maybe I will be able to drum up some students when I get to Denver. I can't see paying for the 10 hours when going to the airlines is a $15,000 pay cut from what I do now.

ya, maybe before you leave where you are now, you can get a few flights there into your logbook in the plane you have been flying in to get 50me down.

Cottonwood?! I grew up down the road from there on a Ranch in Franktown. Might be going back in a few weeks since my friend is getting back from Afghanistan and out of the Army. That's why I'd like to go fly for GL, so I can move back home for a bit. When I was there for thanksgiving, I dropped a few resumes off at KAPA, and one of the chief flight instructors said things are slow and not to expect anything jobwise. My aunt knows someone in her rotary club that does aerial photography, since I don't have enough experience, maybe I could get the contact info for you.

Hey that would be great. I use to make a living doing freelance. That was in Michigan though and when the auto market tanked so did my level of income. I have flown a lot of different singles. I wouldn't mind getting into some multi stuff but I know how hard that is without knowing people. I even applied with the State Police (I have military experience). I was checking aircraft ownership records today and it looks like they have a couple 182s. Looks like there are a lot of private owners up that way. Denver county had over 500 aircraft listed.
