I'll give you some thoughts go to Kdxr and save a boat load of money Youll be made to do 180's and s turns on final so the corporate guys can land ahead of you , sit behind a jet awaiting IFR clearance and be told remain out of the class delta call back in 10 minutes all while paying $3.00 a minute ..... just sayin

Back in the day I commuted to KDXR for flight instruction and actually saved money in the long run and to tell you the truth the ride wasnt bad either . You get short taxis and the airport is a great airport with some challenging approaches .

I did a majority of my training at FRG about 10 years ago...it was pretty busy back then....I believe it has gotten progressively busier with a lot more corporate traffic and the landing fee has increased by a substantial amount as well (it was $2.50/lndg back then).

There's also KISP (Islip airport) just 15 miles east, which is a great alternative (no landing fees either).

There's a flight school out at Islip whose rates are very competitive and the instructors are reputable...PM me if interested.

I instruct at both places and have to say that if you are doing some private/recreational
training ISP is the way to go due to the lower volume of traffic. On the other hand if you are completing ratings and looking to network, FRG is the place to be. Traffic can be frustrating at times but many opportunities linger around.
